Apologies for being MIA for the past few weeks. The studio was very busy photographing pets, babies and families. Things got crazy busy with our upcoming vacation!
As many of you know I was born and raised in the Czech Republic and all my family lives there. Every year I set aside 6 long weeks during the summer and take my son with me to visit his grandparents, cousins, aunts and uncles who don’t speak a word of English. His czech improves dramatically during our stay, he loves the life on a small farm and especially his grandmother’s czech cooking! His favorite meal is bread like dumpling called ”knedlik” which is served with meat stewed in a creamy sauce. Sauces come in many falvors – mushroom sauce, paprika sauce, garlic sauce, vegetable sauce, pepper sauce…the options are endless. He stuffs himself every time and still asks about a dessert (boy after my own heart)
For me this is the best part of the year. Spending time with family who I don’t get to see otherwise, sleeping and eating a lot and enjoying a cup of coffee and a chat with my amazing Mom every dayLife doesn’t get any better than this!
And now onto these three wonderful kiddos who I get to photograph every three months during our “Watch Me Grow” baby plan program. Sweet Ellie turned 6 months, Ryan 9 months and Mia graduated at 1 year. Check out the abundance of cuteness here!
Another beautiful round belly and even more beautiful baby on the blog!
Maternity and Newborn sessions are the most exciting and magical. Seeing and capturing the love between parents, the wonder and expectations during their maternity session always fills my heart with memories of my own pregnancy and how amazing it was to feel my baby moving inside me. Such a miracle my body was capable of! Growing a new life. The life I could not wait to meet and hold in my arms. When my little guy was finally born we truly became a family. He’s our pride and joy, the fulfillment of those dreams and expectations we felt when we watched his little feet push on my belly from the inside and listened to his heart beat so fast through the fetal monitor.
The memories of my pregnancy and my son’s birth are some of the most precious and I hold them close to my heart. My little baby will be 8 years old in just a few weeks. Time flies by so quickly and takes our babies away leaving first children and then grown up teenagers in their place. Documenting these precious memories in timeless photographs is the only way to remember what is lost in the sea of time.
Now when my baby boy is a second grader I get to enjoy his written notes amongst other things. He has always been a very loving and sweet child but some of the things he says still catch me by surprise and bring tears to my eyes. Like the note he gave me a few days ago. It was a small piece of paper folded as a card. Inside he wrote:
“From your mind to my heart”
“My Mother gave me life, I gave her a reason for life”
He drew a big heart on each side. How could you not choke up seeing those words written in his childlike writing? Where does he get such big words? And so true.
Anyway, congratulations to these proud parents on the birth of their beautiful baby girl. She is so pretty with her blue eyes and red hair! She did not feel like sleeping that day but she was that much cuter for it
Our Celebration of Smiles event was awesome! While not as busy as we hoped, the kids had fun and so did we. Big Picture framing shop was the perfect location. So new, modern and conveniently located right next to Starbucks coffee. Our hosts were very helpful and even took advantage of our event to create their head shots. Thank you guys for supporting our cause! And of course a huge thanks to everyone that participated in our fundraiser! We are very proud to announce that we raised enough money to save a child’s smile, we couldn’t have done without you!
Here are just a few of our favorite images from the event. Isn’t it fun that four of our kids had red hair? Only two are siblings
Little Ryan is growing up so fast! What a sweet face and such a happy little guy. I can’t wait for his next session at 9 months.
