Meet Karalyn and Rich. These two lovebirds are getting married in September and I get to photograph their wedding! I am so excited! Not only are these two such down to earth, sweet people and wonderful to work with but their wedding is in the Acadia National Park region in Maine. What a gorgeous place to get married, I am really looking forward to shooting this destination wedding!
I’ve been to Acadia 10 years ago with my then new husband, we took a ride in his old Acura with no air conditioning our tongues lolling out of the windows in the New England scorching summer heat) making stops along the way to dunk ourselves into any water puddle we saw from the road to cool off. It was my husband’s first camping adventure and he was not impressed, lol! The camp was very basic, no showers, just tent sites with fire pits. We slept on hard mats and were freezing at night in our thin sleeping bags from Walmart. I don’t remember if we made a fire but I do remember a lovely restaurant we dined at and the amazing nature we got to hike through. Oh… the memories of life before kids
This time we are planning ahead. We will be staying at the lovely Crocker House Country Inn which is owned by Rich’s parents and will be hosting the wedding festivities. We heard all about the New England charm of this little gem and the food is supposed to be wonderful. We are both very excited to spend a few days there and my Assistant/Husband is especially looking forward to the food of course. I never get to spend more than a few hours at the wedding venue during a wedding so I am looking forward to getting to know this place inside and out beforehand. This should give me some great ideas for spots to take the bride and groom for their wedding portraits.
Karalyn and Rich met at St. Anselm College in Manchester, NH. So, when I asked them where they’d like to get their Engagement Portraits done they chose their Alma mater. The campus in Spring was beautiful, all blooming trees and cool brick buildings. We went early morning to avoid crowds and the weather was perfect. We even got some pictures done in the library. But enough of my rambling. Why don’t you scroll down if you haven’t already and enjoy a glimpse into the loving relationship of soon to be Mr. and Mrs. Malaby.
